West Surrey Badger Group Evening Meetings

What's on September - November 2018

Saturday 16th March:

Badger Workshop and Field Trip

A classroom session at Wanborough Hall about ecology, field signs, rescues and other badger work; then a visit to a local sett. Booking is essential, by email or phone. Start 10am, finish by 4pm. Bring a packed lunch.

Tuesday 19th March:
Dr Roger Trout
Glis glis – the edible dormousee

Roger is leading a long-term research project on Glis glis, a non-native resident in an area within the Chiltern hIlls. This cuddly-looking animal leads a very interesting life, but does cause some damage in houses.

Tuesday 9th April:
Dr Lucy Flower
Wolves of Europe

The wolf is the last natural predator of the badger. In collaboration with Royal Holloway College Lucy is looking at the past ecology of wolves, including how they responded to rapid climate and environmental change.

Tuesday 21st May
WSBG AGM @ 7.30pm

This will be our usual short formal AGM before a quiz or two, refreshments and a presentation. Our guest speaker is member Alan Seymour and partner Jan, our wonderful wildlife photographers who will show some of their best photos and how they took them. PLEASE NOTE EARLIER STARTING TIME.

Meeting Venue

All evening meetings start at 8pm and are held in Wanborough Hall unless otherwise stated.
